Retail Shop Leads: Find Stores and Boutiques by Area
Retail shop leads for wholesalers, distributors, POS software, packaging and signage sellers: how to build a retail store list by area and category, with malls and souks as clusters, in Dubai, Riyadh and London.

Retail shop leads are a list of shops, stores and boutiques with the business phone number and email each one publishes, built by area and by category so that a wholesaler, distributor or service company can contact the owner. The quickest way to build a retail store list is to search one shop category at a time in one area at a time, including the malls and souks where shops cluster. This guide covers the shop categories to search, how to treat malls and souks, the filters that sort the list, example areas in Dubai, Riyadh and London, and a worked example for a packaging supplier.
The short answer
- Choose shop categories that match what you sell, not "shop" on its own.
- Search each category in each area, and search inside the malls and souks separately.
- Keep the published business phone and email; most small shops publish a mobile and an Instagram page.
- Filter by website, reviews and claimed listing to separate established shops from pop-ups.
- Group chain branches, because a chain's head office buys for all its stores.
- Export a phone list and an email list, and start with one area.
Who buys a retailers list?
A retailers list is for anyone whose customer is the shop, not the shopper:
- Wholesalers and distributors of clothing, food, cosmetics, toys, electronics and phone accessories
- Point-of-sale (POS) software, label printers and payment terminals
- Packaging: paper bags, boxes, tissue, labels, tape
- Delivery and courier services for shops that sell online or by WhatsApp
- Signage, shopfitting, lighting, display fixtures and security cameras
- Accounting, VAT and bookkeeping services, marketing agencies and online store builders
Which shops belong on a retail leads list?
Shops describe themselves by what they sell, so search by category, starting with the ones closest to your product.
| Category | Search words | Who usually sells to them |
|---|---|---|
| Boutique and clothing | boutique, clothing store, abaya shop, menswear, children's wear | Garment wholesalers, packaging, POS |
| Grocery and mini-market | grocery, supermarket, mini mart, baqala | Food and drink distributors, chillers, POS |
| Pharmacy | pharmacy, drugstore | Cosmetics and supplement distributors, software |
| Electronics and mobile | electronics store, mobile phone shop, computer shop, phone repair | Accessory wholesalers, insurance, signage |
| Gift and stationery | gift shop, stationery, toy store, perfume shop | Importers, packaging, gift wrap |
| Home and furniture | home decor, furniture store, kitchenware, curtains | Importers, delivery, signage |
| Jewellery and watches | jewellery store, gold shop, watch shop | Packaging, security, insurance |
| Specialist | bookshop, pet shop, florist, sports store, bicycle shop | Niche wholesalers, online store builders |
Search the category names in the local wording too. In the Gulf, "baqala" finds corner groceries that a search for "supermarket" misses, and "abaya" finds a large part of the clothing trade.
How do malls and souks fit in?
A mall or a souk is a cluster of shops at one address. Searching the area alone can return the mall as a single listing and miss the shops inside it, so treat each mall and souk as its own search.
- Malls. The anchor stores and chains belong to head offices, so email the head office once for a supply deal and keep the branch list for deliveries. The kiosks and smaller units are owner-run and reachable by phone.
- Souks and markets. Deira's Gold Souk, Spice Souk and Naif market, the Textile Souk in Bur Dubai, Souq Al Zal in Riyadh and Souq Waqif in Doha are full of small traders who publish a mobile number, often with WhatsApp, and rarely an email.
- High streets. Oxford Street, Regent Street and the local high streets in London hold a mix of chains and independents, and the independents are the ones a phone call reaches.
Rovero's Tower Dig searches inside malls and business centres, so the shops inside are not lost behind the mall's own listing.
Where are the shops in Dubai, Riyadh and London?
- Dubai. Deira (Al Rigga, Naif, Al Ras and the souks) and Al Karama are the densest trading areas, full of independent clothing, electronics, mobile and gift shops. Bur Dubai and Meena Bazaar add textiles and jewellery, Satwa adds fabric and tailoring, and Al Barsha, Mirdif and Jumeirah hold the neighbourhood shops and the mall units.
- Riyadh. Batha is the historic trading district for electronics, clothing and household goods. Olaya and Al Malaz hold the shopping streets and the malls, and Al Rawdah and Al Nakheel the neighbourhood centres.
- London. Oxford Street and Regent Street for flagships and chains; Camden, Shoreditch, Brixton, Southall and Green Street for independents and specialist trades.
How to build the retail store list, step by step
- Pick the categories that match what you sell, in the local wording.
- Pick the areas, starting with the densest trading districts and your delivery radius.
- Search each category in each area, then search each mall and souk on its own.
- Collect the published contacts. The Instagram bio, Facebook page and website contact page usually give a mobile or WhatsApp number; larger shops add an email.
- Mark the chains and look up each head office once.
- Filter and export. Hide closed shops, keep claimed listings when you want current numbers and rows with a website when you want email, then export a phone list for the small shops and an email list for chains and larger stores.
A worked example: a packaging supplier in Dubai
Say you make printed paper bags, boxes and tissue, and you want more boutiques, gift shops and perfume shops as customers. You search "boutique", "gift shop", "perfume shop" and "abaya shop" in Al Karama, Deira, Bur Dubai and Satwa, and then inside two malls where the independents trade. For example, 260 rows come back; 230 publish a mobile number, 90 publish an email, and 40 belong to chains with four or more branches.
You write once to each of the chain head offices with a sample pack. For the 200 independents you call the mobile between eleven and one, when the shop is open but quiet, and offer to drop samples. Shops that say yes get a WhatsApp message with the sample photo before the visit. After one week your spreadsheet shows who wants samples, who already has a supplier and when their contract ends, and who said to call back after the season.
Good practice and local rules
The owner decides and is often on the shop floor. Call in the late morning, visit in the afternoon, and avoid the evenings and the days before Eid, Diwali or Christmas, when every shop is at its busiest.
UAE. The TDRA rules on marketing messages and the UAE PDPL expect consent for marketing messages, a clear sender identity and a free opt-out. A single business enquiry to a shop's published mobile or email is a reasonable start; a bulk campaign without a yes is not.
Saudi Arabia. The PDPL requires prior consent for marketing messages and an easy way to withdraw it.
UK. Under PECR, many independent shops are sole traders, who need consent or a valid soft opt-in before marketing email; limited companies can receive B2B marketing email with a clear sender and a working opt-out.
This is general information, not legal advice; check the current rules for the country you send to.
Where Rovero fits
Rovero is B2B lead generation software for Windows that builds a shop list this way. You type the category in your own words ("gift shop", "mobile phone shop", "baqala"), choose the city, tick the areas, and Rovero searches them one by one, including inside malls and business centres.
For each shop it keeps the name, category, address, phone numbers, website, rating and reviews, and the emails and extra mobile numbers it finds on the shop's website and its Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages, up to three emails and five extra mobiles per lead. It collects what shops publish about themselves; nothing is guessed. Filters hide closed shops and keep the rows with a phone, an email, a website or a claimed listing, and you export exactly what you see. The marketing-ready lists give you a WhatsApp list with country codes and landlines left out, and an e-mail marketing list for the shops that publish an email.
Once a shop is a customer, WhatsApp marketing for restaurants, salons and shops shows how to stay in touch. One honest limit: a souk stall with no listing and no social page will not appear, and in the oldest markets that is a fair share of the traders.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I get retail shop leads in Dubai?
Build them from public business listings and the shops' own social pages, one area and one category at a time, starting with Deira, Al Karama, Bur Dubai and Satwa. Search the malls and souks as separate places so the shops inside them are not missed. Keep the published mobile for small shops and the email for chains.
Why do most small shops have a phone but no email?
An independent shop runs on a mobile, a WhatsApp number and an Instagram page, and the owner answers between customers. So a shop list is mostly a phone list, with email reserved for chains, pharmacies and larger stores.
How do I reach the chains on a retailers list?
A chain's branches do not buy; the head office does. Find the head office on the chain's website or LinkedIn page and write there once with a short offer. Keep the branch addresses for deliveries, installations and local service work.
Can I message shop owners on WhatsApp from the list?
A single, polite business message to a published business number, with a clear way to say no, is a normal first contact in the Gulf and much of Asia. Do not add owners to a bulk campaign until they have said yes. Building a B2B list in general is covered in how to build a B2B lead list.
