Gym Leads: How to Find Fitness Centres and Studios in Any City
Gym leads for equipment, flooring, software, supplement and cleaning suppliers: which fitness business types to search, the signals that show a gym ready to buy, and example areas in Dubai Marina, Riyadh, Manchester and Toronto.

Gym leads are the published contact details of gyms, fitness centres, yoga and pilates studios and personal training studios, collected so a supplier can reach the owner. You build a fitness centre list area by area, one business type at a time, collecting the email and phone each gym publishes and filtering for the signals that show it is ready to buy. This guide is for the companies that sell to gyms. It covers who buys gym leads, which business types to search, the buying signals, example areas in Dubai Marina, Riyadh, Manchester and Toronto, and how to make first contact.
The short answer
- List the fitness business types that buy what you sell: gym, fitness centre, yoga studio, crossfit box, personal training studio, swimming club.
- Pick the areas of the city where those businesses cluster and search each area for each type.
- Collect the email, phone and mobile each gym publishes on its listing, website and social pages.
- Read the signals: a new opening, a high review count or a missing website each point to a different need.
- Contact the owner or manager in the quiet hours, with a message that names the gym.
Who buys gym leads?
Gyms are equipment-heavy, staff-heavy and open long hours, so they buy from many suppliers:
- Cardio and strength equipment makers, resellers and repair services
- Rubber flooring, turf, mirrors, lighting and fit-out contractors
- Membership, booking, access control and class scheduling software
- Supplements, protein drinks, vending and juice bars
- Business and liability insurance and licensing consultants
- Cleaning, towel laundry, pest control, uniforms and marketing
Here is a worked example. Say you install rubber gym flooring in Manchester and want ten new fit-out jobs before the New Year rush. A gym that opened last month has already bought its floor; one with no reviews yet and a "coming soon" website has not. So your fitness business leads are the new openings in Ancoats, Salford Quays and Trafford Park, plus the established gyms with many reviews that may be due a refit. That is a list of perhaps 80 gyms, not 800, and you can call every one of them.
Which business types belong on a fitness centre list?
| Business type | Search words to try | Who decides | What they buy most |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gym and fitness centre | gym, fitness centre, health club, 24 hour gym | Owner, general manager or head office for chains | Equipment, flooring, software, cleaning, supplements |
| Ladies gym (Gulf) | ladies gym, ladies fitness centre, women's gym | Female owner or manager | Equipment, studio flooring, booking software |
| Yoga and pilates studio | yoga studio, pilates studio, reformer pilates, barre | Owner-instructor | Mats, reformers, flooring, booking apps, insurance |
| Crossfit box | crossfit, functional fitness, strength and conditioning | Owner-coach | Rigs, bars and plates, turf, timers, software |
| Personal training studio | personal training studio, PT studio, private gym | Owner-trainer | Compact equipment, software, insurance, supplements |
| Swimming club and academy | swimming academy, swim school, swimming club | Manager or club secretary | Pool chemicals, timing systems, kit, insurance |
Two things to watch. Gyms inside residential towers and hotels serve residents and guests only, and the building's management buys for them, so keep them off a list of independent buyers unless you sell to building managers. And in the Gulf, "ladies gym" is a separate business type with its own licence, run and staffed by women, so search it on its own.
Which signals show a gym that is ready to buy?
Every row in your list should carry the business name, type, area and building, phone, mobile, website, rating, review count, email and social pages.
- A new opening. A listing with no reviews or only a few, a recent first review, or "opening soon" on the website means a gym that is still buying equipment, software, signage and insurance. These are the best fitness business leads for anything a gym needs on day one.
- Many reviews. A gym with hundreds of reviews is established, has staff and a maintenance budget. It buys repairs, replacement equipment, cleaning contracts and supplements on a regular cycle, and it has a manager who reads email.
- No website. A gym with a listing and an Instagram page but no website usually has no booking software and no online membership sign-up. It is the obvious lead for software and marketing suppliers, and it belongs on your phone list.
- Several branches. Three branches of the same gym brand are one buying decision made at the head office. Keep the branches for service work and contact the head office once for a supply deal.
- A low rating. A gym rated well below its neighbours often has complaints about cleanliness or broken machines: a lead for cleaning and repair services.
Set these signals up as filters: reviews above or below a number, website present or missing, closed listings hidden. Then export the rows that match the one thing you sell. For a general method, read how to build a B2B lead list; for scoring each row before you call, see lead qualification made simple.
Where do you find gym leads in Dubai Marina, Riyadh, Manchester and Toronto?
- Dubai Marina and nearby. The Marina and JLT have gyms on the podium levels of towers, so a building search finds more than a street search. Add Al Quoz for warehouse gyms, crossfit boxes and boxing clubs, Business Bay for boutique studios, and Motor City and Sports City for larger fitness centres and swimming academies.
- Riyadh. Al Malqa, Hittin, Al Yasmin and Al Nakheel in the north for new gyms and ladies gyms, Olaya and Al Sulimaniyah for established health clubs, Al Rawdah and Al Naseem in the east for neighbourhood gyms and martial arts academies.
- Manchester. Ancoats and the Northern Quarter for boutique studios, Deansgate and Spinningfields for city-centre health clubs, Salford Quays and Trafford Park for large gyms with parking, Didsbury and Chorlton for yoga and pilates studios.
- Toronto. Liberty Village and King West for boutique fitness and crossfit, Yorkville for premium clubs, Leslieville and the Danforth for yoga studios, North York and Scarborough for large gyms and swimming clubs.
How do you contact a gym owner?
Gyms are busiest before work and after it, so the quiet hours are late morning and early afternoon on weekdays. Call the front desk then and ask for the owner or general manager by role. The published info@ address reaches the manager at most independent gyms; at a chain, use the head office address on the website.
A first message that works:
Hi, this is Omar from Northline Flooring. We fit rubber gym flooring and turf for independent gyms across Manchester. I saw that your Ancoats gym is opening soon. If the floor is not sorted yet, I can send a quote from your floor plan within a day. If it is already done, no reply needed.
Message the gym's published business number or email, not a trainer's personal number. Say who you are, make one clear offer and give an easy way to say no. The UK PECR and UK GDPR, the UAE TDRA rules and PDPL, the Saudi PDPL and Canada's CASL all expect a clear sender, a working opt-out and respect for a no. This is general information, not legal advice; check the current rules for the country you send to.
Where Rovero fits
Rovero is B2B lead generation software for Windows that builds a gym and fitness centre list area by area. You type the business type in your own words ("crossfit", "ladies gym", "pilates studio"), choose a city in any country, tick the areas from its area list and let Rovero search each one. Tower Dig finds the towers, business centres and malls in each area and searches inside them, which matters in Dubai Marina, where most gyms sit on a podium level.
For each gym it reads the listing, then the website and the Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages, and keeps the emails and extra mobile numbers the gym publishes. Nothing is guessed. The smart filters keep rows by rating, review count, website, phone and email, and hide closed gyms, so a filter such as "reviews under 20, no website" gives you the new openings in one click. You export exactly what you see to Excel, CSV or a phone list ready to copy.
One honest limit: details change over time and a listing does not show an opening date, so the review count and the website are your signals; check a lead before you quote.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I get gym leads for my area?
Build them from the city's business listings and each gym's own website and social pages, searching one area and one business type at a time. Gyms publish a phone number almost always and an email most of the time, so a list built this way carries both.
How do I know if a gym is new?
Look at the review count and the website. A listing with no reviews or a handful, all recent, and a website that says "opening soon" or has no class schedule yet is almost always a new gym. Those are the leads for equipment, flooring, software and insurance.
Do gym owners answer email?
Owners and managers of established gyms do, especially when the email names their gym and makes one concrete offer. Owner-trainers at small studios and crossfit boxes are on the floor all day and read messages on their phone, so a message to the published business mobile works better for them.
Should I include hotel gyms and residential tower gyms?
Only if you sell to the building or hotel operator, because the gym itself does not buy. For most suppliers it is better to filter them out and keep the list to independent gyms and studios and the branches of commercial chains.
Next step
Pick one area and one business type today, build a list of 50 gyms with their review counts and websites, and sort it so the new openings and the ones without a website come first. To see an area-by-area search in action, look at what Rovero does or start a free trial, no card needed.
Try Rovero
Rovero is smart, automated B2B lead generation software for Windows: choose a business type and a city, and it searches the city area by area, collects the emails and phone numbers businesses publish, and exports a duplicate-free lead list to Excel, CSV or your CRM.
