Free zone company leads are the contact details of companies licensed in one of the UAE's free zones, such as DMCC, JAFZA or DIFC, taken from the business listings, websites and social pages those companies publish. A free zone companies list for the UAE is best built zone by zone, because each zone's companies sit in a known place: DMCC in the Jumeirah Lakes Towers clusters, JAFZA in Jebel Ali, DIFC in its own district of towers. This guide explains what a free zone is, maps the main zones to the ground they occupy, shows why tower-by-tower search matters there, and gives a method for building a list by zone.

## The short answer

1. A free zone company is licensed by a zone authority rather than the emirate's economic department, and its office sits inside that zone.
2. Each zone occupies a known place, so a list by zone is really a list by location: a tower cluster, a district or an industrial park.
3. Search tower by tower in the office zones and plot by plot in the industrial zones.
4. Use the zone's member directory, where one is published, to check names and activities, and the business listings and websites for contact details.
5. Record the zone, the building and the activity for every lead, and remove duplicates before you contact anyone.

## What is a free zone company?

A free zone is an area of the UAE with its own licensing authority and rules, set up to attract companies in a certain line of business. A company licensed there can be fully foreign-owned, gets its visas and office through the zone, and keeps its office inside it. Its name often ends in FZE, FZCO, FZ-LLC or DMCC. A mainland company is licensed by its emirate's economic department and can sit in any district.

For lead generation the zone tells you two things: the trade (DMCC leans to commodities and trading, DIFC to finance, JAFZA to logistics and manufacturing, Dubai Internet City to tech) and the address, once you know where each zone is on the ground.

## Where do free zone companies physically sit?

| Zone | Where it is | Typical businesses |
| --- | --- | --- |
| DMCC | The Jumeirah Lakes Towers clusters, Dubai | Commodities and gold traders, trading companies, consultancies, fintech |
| DIFC | Its own district of towers between Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai | Financial firms, fund managers, insurers, law and accounting firms, fintech |
| JAFZA | Jebel Ali, around the port in the south-west of Dubai | Logistics, freight forwarders, manufacturers, distributors, oil and gas suppliers |
| DAFZA | Next to Dubai International Airport, on the Al Garhoud side | Aviation services, electronics and pharmaceutical distributors, freight, IT |
| Dubai Silicon Oasis | A self-contained district in east Dubai, also home to IFZA | Tech firms, small offices, consultancies, start-ups |
| Dubai Internet City and Media City | Along Sheikh Zayed Road near Dubai Marina | Software, agencies, media, training companies, regional tech offices |
| Sharjah Airport Free Zone | Beside Sharjah International Airport | Light manufacturing, trading, freight, packaging |
| Hamriyah Free Zone | On the coast north of Sharjah city, around Hamriyah port | Heavy industry, steel, petrochemicals, maritime services |
| ADGM | Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi | Financial firms, asset managers, professional services, fintech |
| KIZAD | Al Taweelah, between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, now grouped under KEZAD | Manufacturing, logistics, food processing, building materials |
| RAKEZ | Several parks in Ras Al Khaimah, including Al Hamra and Al Ghail | Industry, trading, services, start-ups |

The smaller zones follow the same pattern: Ajman Free Zone by Ajman port, Fujairah Free Zone by Fujairah port, the Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone on the emirate's main road. ## Why does tower-by-tower search matter in free zones?

The office zones are vertical. In Jumeirah Lakes Towers each cluster is named by a letter and holds two or three towers, and each tower holds dozens to hundreds of DMCC companies. DIFC has the same density, DAFZA is a set of numbered buildings and Dubai Internet City a campus of named ones. A search that treats the zone as one point finds the receptions and the biggest tenants and misses the rest.

The fix is to list the buildings first and then search inside each one:

1. Write down the clusters or buildings of the zone (for DMCC, the lettered clusters; for DIFC, the Gate district and the towers around it).
2. Search business categories inside each building, not across the whole zone.
3. Record the floor and unit where the listing shows them; a tower address without a unit is hard to visit.
4. Watch for business centres, which put many companies behind one reception number; match on name and website, not phone.

The industrial zones are horizontal instead. JAFZA, Hamriyah and KIZAD are divided into plots and numbered streets, so search by sector or street rather than by tower.

## Do free zones publish a free zone companies list?

Some zones publish a member directory on their own website, searchable by activity and showing the company name, its licensed activity and, at times, a website. Others publish nothing of the kind. A directory confirms that a company is in the zone and what it does, but it rarely gives a direct phone number or a named contact.

So a directory is a check, not a lead list. The contact details still come from the city's business listings, the contact page on the company's website and its Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn page. Build the list from those and use the directory to confirm the zone for the leads that matter most.

## How to build a list of free zone company leads zone by zone

1. **Pick the zones that match your buyer.** Logistics suppliers start with JAFZA, DAFZA and KIZAD. Software and services suppliers start with DIFC, ADGM, DMCC and Dubai Internet City.
2. **Map each zone to its buildings or sectors** using the table above.
3. **Search one category in one building or sector at a time**, and save the zone, the building and the category in their own columns.
4. **Collect the published contact details** and keep the mobile separate from the reception line.
5. **Check against the directory** where the zone publishes one, and mark any company that appears to have moved.
6. **Remove duplicates** across buildings, because a company with an office in Cluster F and a warehouse in Jebel Ali appears twice.

Take a worked example. Say you sell freight forwarding and customs clearance and you want 500 free zone leads. You choose DMCC for commodity traders, JAFZA for distributors and DAFZA for electronics importers. You search "trading company" tower by tower in the DMCC clusters, "distributor" by sector in JAFZA and "electronics" by building in DAFZA. After cleaning you hold, for example, 540 rows with a reception number, 310 with an email and 190 with a WhatsApp number. Your first message to the DMCC traders names their cluster and your first message to JAFZA names the sector, which makes a cold message feel local.

Our guides to [leads in the UAE](/blog/leads-uae) and [lead generation in Abu Dhabi](/blog/lead-generation-abu-dhabi) cover the mainland areas around each zone.

## What rules apply to contacting free zone companies?

Free zone companies follow the same federal rules as mainland ones. The TDRA rules on marketing messages expect senders to identify themselves, to keep to sensible hours and to provide a free opt-out, and the UAE PDPL expects a lawful reason to hold a person's details and a quick stop when they ask. DIFC and ADGM also have their own data protection rules for companies inside them.

This is general information, not legal advice; check the current rules for the country you send to.

## Where Rovero fits

Rovero is B2B lead generation software for Windows, and the free zones are where its building-level search earns its keep. Type "Dubai", tick Jumeirah Lakes Towers, DIFC, Jebel Ali and Dubai Silicon Oasis as areas, and pick a category. [Tower Dig](/rovero/features#tower-dig) then finds the towers, business centres and malls in each area and searches inside them, so the DMCC companies in a Cluster F tower are found one by one rather than as a single reception entry.

Each lead carries [building, floor and unit](/rovero/features#address-details) in English and Arabic when the listing shows them, along with the business name and category, phone numbers, website and the emails and mobile numbers published on its website and social pages. A company with an office in two zones is saved once, and each search exports to Excel, CSV or JSON with the area name in its column.

One honest limit: Rovero finds businesses with a public listing, so a free zone company that holds only a licence and a flexi-desk, with no listing and no website, will not appear.

## Frequently asked questions

### Where can I find a DMCC companies list?

DMCC companies sit in the Jumeirah Lakes Towers clusters, so the most complete list comes from searching the clusters tower by tower in the city's business listings and taking each company's published details from its website and social pages. DMCC's own directory, where available, confirms a company's activity and licence.

### What is the difference between free zone company leads and mainland leads?

A free zone company is licensed by a zone authority and sits inside that zone, often in a known tower cluster or industrial park, and it tends to sell to other companies or abroad. A mainland company is licensed by the emirate and can sit anywhere.

### Do free zone companies publish phone numbers and emails?

Yes, in the same places as any UAE company: the business listing for a landline and the building, the website for a general email, and Instagram or LinkedIn for a mobile or WhatsApp number. Trading companies in DMCC and distributors in JAFZA are usually easy to reach; some DIFC and ADGM firms publish only a general email.

### Can a free zone company buy from a mainland supplier?

Yes. Free zone companies buy services and supplies from mainland suppliers every day. The restriction runs the other way: a free zone company selling goods into the mainland may need a distributor or a mainland branch.
